Manila – Employees from the Institute for Labor Studies recently completed a three-day workshop with the trainers from the National Archives of the Philippines, which was conducted virtually last August 17-19 via Zoom.

Manila – The Gender and Development (GAD) Committee of the Institute for Labor Studies recently concluded a virtual SOGIE-SC Workshop for its employees and senior officials last August 30.

Representing the Philippines, Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba sat as a key member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Tripartite Working Group on Options to Ensure Decent Work in Supply Chains held in Geneva, Switzerland from 27 June to 1 July 2022.

The working group reaffirmed the ILO mandate as it relates to decent work in supply chains and the necessity of equipping the ILO to take a leading role in providing guidance and support to Member States and tripartite constituents.

The 5-day meeting resulted to an outcome document or “building blocks of a strategy,” covering all available ILO measures --national, international, mandatory and voluntary – to ensure decent work and improve working conditions in supply chains or those involving investment, production and trade in today’s global economy, which experienced significant challenges during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exec. Dir. Lobrin-Satumba was joined by Permanent Mission of Philippines in Geneva Labor Attache Cheryl Chyt Daytec.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies recently held a presentation meeting last July 22 to reintroduce the concept of the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) to select ILS employees. The meeting was called to order by ILS Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba.
