Manila - The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) successfully conducted an orientation on the “National Guidelines on Internal Control Systems and Internal Audit Service” for public sector employees held on March 6, 2024, at the ILS Office, Intramuros, Manila.

Manila - The Institute for Labor Studies earned anew a hundred percent score in the Performance-Based Incentive System (PBIS) for the grant of Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for fiscal year 2022, replicating its accomplishment score in 2021. The PBB is among the two incentives given under the PBIS introduced per Executive Order No. 80, in July 2012.

Manila - In line with the celebration of the National Women’s Month, the Department of Labor and Employment, through its attached agency the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), organized a forum on Convention 190 on Eliminating Violence and Harassment in the World of Work following the country’s ratification to raise awareness and common understanding of its principles. The forum serves as a platform for tripartite discussion on concrete policies and programs, various approaches and avenues to promote and engage the support of stakeholders in the implementation of the said Convention.

Manila - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliament convened today for a landmark dialogue aimed at discussing the proposed Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Bill No. 59, otherwise known as the Bangsamoro Labor and Employment Code (BLEC). The event underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving the objectives of the proposed BLEC, creating decent, sustainable, and inclusive employment for the Bangsamoro people rooted in principles of national peace and social justice.

Allow me first to congratulate the Deputy Director General, Ms. Celeste Drake, on her new post at the International Labour Organization. On behalf of our principals, Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo and Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, it is my pleasure and honor to join the Officials of the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, led by Ambassador Carlos D. Sorreta, in depositing the instrument of ratification of ILO Convention No. 190.
