In celebration of Women’s Month 2014, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) held two technical learning sessions on gender-oriented policy researches and gender-sensitive governance last March 20, 2014 at the Migration Information Resource Center (MIRC), DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.

The technical learning sessions discussed on the women’s issues and concerns that could be mainstreamed in the labor and employment policymaking processes and integrated into the DOLE’s Gender and Development (GAD) programs.

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) started sending its technical staff and personnel last January 6, 2013 to help and assist in the implementation of the emergency employment and livelihood programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan in Region VIII, particularly in the provinces of Leyte and Samar.

The Institute for Labor Studies was hailed as one of the top five winners of the 2013 Green our DOLE Program (GODP) Award during a ceremony on December 8, 2013. The award was handed down by Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz and Executive Director Teresita Cucueco of the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC).

IT’S ABOUT LOVE.

In time for the spirit of the Christmas season, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), the policy research arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), undertook an outreach activity in Hospicio de San Jose last November 28, 2013.

“The outreach we did was part of our moral renewal program. But the outreach was not just simply for compliance’s sake. It was all about love and self-giving to others, even for just one brief moment in time. It was an avenue for ILS staff to also share their blessings with others,” ILS Executive Director Cruz said.

The growing need for an automated storage of research products is an increasing concern for research institutions. The complex and ever changing environment where knowledge should reside makes it more compelling to treat information as a strategic resource requiring proper database management.

In light of this situation, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted a technical learning session (TLS) for its staff on Project Tracking and Monitoring Information System (PTMIS) last November 27 at the Management Information Resource Center (MIRC).
