The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) held its strategic planning session in Country Chateau Hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite last August 23-24, 2016.

"As researchers, you need to make your work count. It needs to be of value to someone You cannot be timid about your ideas. Find your champion within the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)," said Assistant Secretary Katherine Brimon during her keynote speech.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) will be launching the first Gender and Decent Work policy rounds on September 1, from 8:00am – 1:00pm at the Cinematheque Centre, T.M. Kalaw Ave., Ermita, Manila.

The event titled, “SOGIE x Decent Work: Inspiring Action for Workplace Inclusion and Empowerment for LGBT Workers,” aims to be an innovative platform for policy discourse on gender-based issues and concerns on labor and employment. This will be hosted of the ILS’ Gender and Development (GAD) committee, in partnership with key players and tripartite stakeholders.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participates in the Green Jobs and Just Transition Technical Workshop for Government last August 25-26 at the Waterfront Pavilion Hotel, United Nations Avenue corner Ma. Orosa Street, Manila City.

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) submits its Gender and Development (GAD) Accomplishment Report for the First Semester of 2016 to the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC). This is in line with the commitment of government to mainstream gender dimensions in its programs, projects, and activities to implement Republic Act No. 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) towards women’s empowerment, gender equity and gender equality.

The Institute for Labor Studies research titled, “Employment Mainstreaming of Workers with Disability” was presented during the Government Partners Forum on Access to Employment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) last July 20 at the Eurotel Hotel in Quezon City.

The said forum was in celebration of the 38th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDRP) Week with the theme, “Karapatan ng Maykapansanan, Isakatuparan, Now Na!”
