On August 9, 2017, ILS employees planted five hundred (500) saplings of sweet tamarind, custard apple and salamander (bignay) saplings at the Mt. Arayat National Park with assistance from Mr. Ray Nunez of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Region III.

Headed by OIC-Executive Director Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer, the said undertaking has become part of the Institute’s Green Our DOLE Program (GODP) initiatives.

From 2011-2016, ILS was able to plant a total of 3,400 seedlings in different areas: 500 guyabano (soursop) trees in Sariaya, Quezon (2012), 2,000 mangroves in Iba, Zambales (2013), 400 bitaog trees in Palo, Leyte (2014), and 400 pitogo (Queen sago) trees in Baler, Aurora (2015).
