Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) joined the “Consultation Session on Low-Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) and Forum on Green Jobs” held on September 29 at the Tycoon Centre, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The event was organized by the Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE).

ILS Deputy Executive Director Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer and Ms. Brenalyn A. Peji, ILS Chief Labor and Employment Officer, represented the event in behalf of the ILS. Atty. Riguer and Ms. Peji talked about Republic Act 10771 (RA 10771), also known as the Green Jobs Law, and the salient points of the draft Implementing Rules and Regulations. They also gave a presentation on the Green Jobs HRD Plan as required by RA 10771.

In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Philippine Climate Change Commission, the PBE event aims to validate results of its analytical report  on carbon emission reduction practices in agriculture, forestry, energy, transport and waste sectors.
