The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) invited ten National Capital Region-based unions to participate in the ILS survery for the research project “Organizing for Equality: Study on Women and Gender Mainstreaming in Labor Unions in Philippine Key Services Subsectors” conducted in 09 October at the Institute’s iLearn Conference Room, Manila.
The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) sent four of its researchers to the “Research Writing & Statistical Analysis” training by StrandAsia, Inc. at Ating Tahanan National Program & Training Center in Baguio City, Benguet last 15-18 October.
The ILS staff, composed of Joyce Anne S. Lumactud, Camille Frances G. Dumalaog, Marc Rapahael A. Penaredondo, and Soledad R. Deluna, joined representatives from the national government agencies, higher educational institutions, and private research consultants.
On 28 September 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies, headed by Acting Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin Satumba, met with Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) Director Levinson Alcantara, along with the Department of Labor and Employment-International Labor Affairs Bureau (DOLE-ILAB) on the development of a public campaign on Safe Migration in ASEAN. The inter-agency meeting aimed to produce audio-visual materials and other technical inputs for the said campaign.
The newly-elected officers of the Institute for Labor Studies Employees Association (ILSEA) took their oath of office before ILS Acting Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba last 25 September 2018, a day after the union’s general elections was held.
The ILSEA is the accredited employees’ union of the Institute for Labor Studies.
On 19 September 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies participated in the “Annual Public Policy Conference” of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies held at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.
