On June 12, 2018, the  Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) joined in the celebration of the country’s 120th independence day at Rizal Park grounds, in Manila. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Kalayaan 2018, Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan.”

Vice President Leni Robredo led in the flag-raising ceremony at the Jose Rizal Shrine at Luneta Park, while President Rodrigo R. Duterte led the flag-raising rites in Kawit, cavite.

On June 27-28, 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted a workshop on “Data Story Telling” at the iLearn conference room, Intramuros, Manila.

ILS resource person Carl Rookie Q. Daquio explained that the said technical learning session aimed to provide the participants with the basic principles and elements of good visualization design to become proficients data story teller.

On 23 June 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in the celebration of the World Day Against Child Labor held at San Andres Sports Complex, Intramuros Manila.   

The theme of this year’s celebration is “Ligtas sa Paggawa, Malusog na Batang Malaya” to reflect the need to save children from child labor, and help them live in a safe and healthy environment.

On June 28, employees of the Institute for Labor Studies, led by its Gender and Development Committee, visited the offices within the Department of Labor and Employment building in Intramuros, Manila,handing out rainbow ballpens and stickers to celebrate Pride Month.

“Ang happy din ng mga napamahagian ng rainbow pens kahit nabulabog sa kani-kanilang opisina. Ganoon naman talaga yata ang diwa ng selebrasyon na ito: para sa pagkakapantay-pantay, mahirap pero handang magsumikap,” said GAD Chair Ronnel Delerio.

On 04 June 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) received a Certificate of Attestation from certifying body AJA Registrars for immediate recommendation to ISO 9001:2015 certification, three days after the said body’s audit assessment.

“This ISO 9001:2015 certification is just a starting point and reflects ILS’ culture of quality work ethics in delivering public service,” remarked by Acting Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba.
