The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) continued with the conduct of the series of multipartite consultations on Green Jobs HRD Plan Formulation starting with the construction sector last 3-4 September 2018 at Hotel H20 in Manila.
The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) has started its fieldwork for the research project titled “Federal Philippines’: A Policy Delphi-Survey Study.”
The research, headed by the Employment Research Division, aims to prepare the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on how labor and employment governance can be executed in a federalized situation. It employs a modified Policy Delphi technique to solicit and analyze the views of experts from concerned stakeholder groups regarding the federal-regional delineation of responsibilities on labor and employment governance.
The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) kicked off the series of multilateral consultations on Green Jobs HRD Plan last 8-9 August 2018 at Hotel Jen, Roxas, Blvd. Manila.
The first round of consultation involved the public sector, including the different national government agencies and government financial institutions. The two-day event recognized the critical role of government in promoting green jobs within the sphere of their respective offices.
On 10 August 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted a technical learning session on the legislative process for the members of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Technical Committee on Legislative Matters (TCLM) at the iLearn Conference Room, DOLE Bldg. in Intramuros, Manila.
The learning session aimed to capacitate TCLM members on the process and trends in legislative proposals on labor and employment in relation to the Department’s priority agenda. It also familiarized the members on the themes of the legislative proposals filed in both the Senate and the House of Representative.
On 14 August 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) organized a deaf awareness seminar themed “Breaking Down Employment Barriers for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)” at the iLearn Conference Room, 5th Floor, DOLE Bldg., Intramuros, Manila.
The seminar is in line with ILS’ commitment of promoting welfare and social protection across all sectors, with special focus for deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH) persons. It also highlighted the importance of increasing sensitivity to bridge the communication gap with PWDs through sign language.
