“We want Healthy Eating for Filipinos!”

This was the call by the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) when it hosted the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) flag ceremonies held recently at the DOLE Ople Hall.

“For our second hosting this year of the DOLE flag ceremonies, we wanted to highlight the value of a healthy lifestyle at work, and that includes healthy eating,” said Executive Director Cynthia R. Cruz of the Institute for Labor Studies.

The Executive Director of the Institute for Labor Studies took part in the Panel Discussion on Social Partnerships at the 34th National Conference of Employers held at the Marriott Hotel with the theme “Inclusive Growth: Vision, Prescriptions and Action.”

The panel discussion with the theme “Social Partnerships: Enhancing Productive and Decent Employment” brought together experts from government, international organization, labor sector, and private sector to identify the role of government and international organizations in enhancing productive and decent employment.

With the changing face of work today brought about by globalization, technological advancements, new ways of work arrangements including atypical forms of employment such as freelance work, fixed term employment, on-call work, home-work and telecommuting, are now becoming popular around the world, including the Philippines.

These are among the key findings at the Working World Trialogue entitled “Understanding New Forms of Work Arrangements: A Policy Discussion on Outsourcing, Offshoring, Remote Work,” organized by the Institute for Labor Studies at the Occupational Safety and Health Center.
