Managers and employees need to be technology champions to allow more flexibility at work. Other infrastructure such as devices and equipment must also be adequate to the needs of the company to allow their employees to work remotely. Aside from the infrastructure, workplace culture and work-life balance also play a role in the effective implementation of this work arrangement. Work-life balance is amongst the top priorities of employees working remotely, thus building a culture of trust is essential to encourage employees and create a harmonious working environment. Aside from agreement or policy which serves a guideline setting the tone of the work arrangement, companies can also strategize their implementation which can include digital tools for collaboration, mechanism to monitor employee well-being at home, and virtual learning solutions, that can improve employee engagement.
