The Institute for Labor Studies held its turnover ceremony for incoming Officer-in-Charge Jeanette T. Damo held at the DOLE Command Center on November 09, 2022.
Outgoing Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba thanked the ILS employees for the time she spent with the Institute and handed over the symbolic key and flag to OIC-Executive Director Damo.
For her part, OIC-Executive Director Damo thanked the employees for welcoming her back. She started her career at the ILS as a Research Assistant in 1989 before being promoted to Chief Labor and Employment in 2003. She transferred to NWPC in October 01, 2008 as Director II, and promoted to Deputy Executive Director IV in 2014.
Undersecretary Benedicto Ernesto R. Bitonio, Jr. led the lineup of messages of support to OIC-Executive Director Damo, reminding the Institute that in its exercise of its research mandate to be not less than an academic institution but to get “nearer to the pulse of the people on the ground.”
Others who expressed their messages of support included former DOLE Undersecretary and ILS Executive Director Reydeluz D. Conferido, National Wages and Productivity Commission Executive Director Maria Criselda R. Sy, DOLE-HRDS Director Brenalyn A. Peji, and ILS Deputy Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer-Teodosio.
