Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba took her oath of office before DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello last 07 January 2019 after the Monday flag raising ceremony held at the DOLE Main Building façade along Muralla Street in Intramuros, Manila.
Witnessing the event were Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, Undersecretary for Workers Protection, Policy Support, Human Resource and Internal Auditing Services Cluster, Undersecretary Jacinto V. Paras for Human Capital Development, Overseas Employment Administration, and Policy Support Cluster, and Undersecretary Claro A. Arellano for the Legal, International, Legislative, and Media Affairs Cluster.
Prior to her appointment, Director Satumba was the Acting Executive Director of the Institute since September 2017, taking over the reins from then ILS Deputy Executive Director III Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer. She also headed the Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) from 2013 to 2017 and worked in other DOLE offices such as National Wages and Productivity Commission, Bureau of Labor Relations, and Bureau of Women and Young Workers.
