Manila –The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) management, represented by Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, and ILS Employees Association (ILSEA), represented by Union President Maria Isabel Artajo, signed a new Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) for the period 2017-2020 at the ILS office in Intramuros, Manila in October 31.
Highlighted in the said agreement is a new Article on safe spaces and mental health: “The Institute, in coordination with the employees, shall integrate and mainstream an anti-bullying, anti-discrimination, and mental health in the workplace policies and programs, and shall support activities, but not limited to, learning sessions and trainings…to promote organization-wide awareness and better understanding of issues and root causes concerning workplace bullying and other forms of violence.”
Ms. Artajo said that the actualization of the said CNA provisions would lead to safe and harmonious workplace. It is also within the plans of ILSEA to create a working group to create the programs for the said aims of the provision.
