QUEZON CITY – Labor and Employment Officers from the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), Mr. Diether Navarosa, Ms. Lyra Cosette Dayego, Mr. John Rod Sadia, and Mr. Jun Karlo Laroza, participated in the training workshop on Designing Qualitative Social Science Research organized by the Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC). The event was held on 10 to 11 April 2025, at the PSSC’s Mercedes B. Concepcion Seminar Room, Quezon City.

The workshop aimed to equip researchers with a solid foundation in qualitative research design, covering essential concepts and a step-by-step approach to conducting qualitative social science research. Dr. Jan Robert Go, Associate Professor at the University of the Philippines, served as the resource speaker, delivering a comprehensive presentation on the PSSC’s Resource Guidebook, a valuable tool for social science researchers.

For the two-day training, ILS researchers, along with participants from various organizations, deepened their knowledge and understanding of qualitative research methods, which are essential for evidence-based policy research and writing.

This initiative supports ILS’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative, responsible, and competent research and technical services throughout the policy development process.
