Manila - The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted a capacity-building and immersive internal audit and quality management systems course attended by select employees of the Institute on April 11 to 12, 2024, at the ILS office, Intramuros, Manila.

The training aims to further improve the internal systems of the Institute in preparation for the audit cycle for FY 2024 and re-familiarized employees with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Standard to ensure ISO re-certification.

Apart from ISO 9001:2015, the training also covered ISO 19011:2018 with an emphasis on auditing management systems, managing an audit program, and conducting management system audits. Employees were also apprised of a risk-based approach and proper integration of the core mandate and policies are deemed necessary for organizational effectiveness and improvement.

Marivic M. Mediavillo of Management Systems Consultant of the ARMSS Management Consultancy Services served as the resource person for the training.

The Instituted has previously concluded its Internal Audit and External Surveillance Audit in the first semester of 2023. SOCOTEC Certification Philippines awarded the ISO 9001:2015 re-certification on July 22, 2021, with validity until July 23, 2024.
