Last May 17, 2018, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), headed by Acting Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, planted trees in the Shilan Communal Forest in Barangay Shilan, La Trinidad, Benguet as part of the Institute’s contribution to the Green Our DOLE Program (GODP) of the Department of Labor and Employment, and also of the Greening Program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The Institute started its Greening Program engagement in 2011. For this year, the Institute planted 250 trees, namely: Baguio pines, African tulips and Ipil-ipil trees.
The said activity was coordinated with the Community of Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) through Officer Rainier D. Balbuena.
