The Institute for Labor Studies’ ongoing 2019 research titled “A Study on the Industry Practices, Business Landscape and Strategies in Coping with Current Trends of the IT-BPM Sector in the Philippines” was included in the monthly list of Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) studies for the month of July at the official web site (www.ibpap.org) of the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippine (IBPAP)

The ongoing research, co-authored by ILS Acting Deputy Executive Director III Patrick P. Patriwirawan, Jr. and Senior Labor and Employment Officer Carl Sean E. Pablico, looks into the current situation of the IT-BPM sector in the Philippines amidst recent and imminent socio-economic and socio-political drivers of change: rise of artificial intelligence and digital technology in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution; the full realization of ASEAN Economic Integration; and the introduction of complex government reforms.
The study aims to provide strategic recommendations and policy options for the industry’s increased competitiveness and continued sustainability.

IBPAP is an association for the IT-BPM industry in the Philippines with over 300 members and works closely with government, academe and key stakeholders to ensure that the country’s IT-BPM industry remains globally competitive.
