Manila – The Institute of Labor Studies (ILS) Freedom on Information representatives, headed by Deputy Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer as FOI Decision Maker, attended the technical training on eFOI (electronic Freedom of Information) platform organized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office last Oct. 27, 2017 at the Social Hall, Mabini Building, Malacanang Compound, Manila.

The training is pursuant to FOI Memorandum Circular No. 3, s. 2017 requiring all government offices covered by Executive Order No. 2, s, 2016 to enroll and onboard the eFOI platform to ensure that the public will have ease and convenience in requesting for information to different agencies under the Executive branch.

The PCOO targets to onboard all National Government Agencies (NGAs) into the eFOI portal by end of this year.

ILS has successfully onboarded in the eFOI platform and likewise reports that its FOI Manual is  now available at its web site www.ils.dole.gov.ph

President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order No. 2, also known as the Freedom of Information Order, on July 23, 2016 requiring all executive departments, agencies, bureaus, and offices to make public records, contracts, transactions and any information requested by a member of the public, except for matters affecting national security.
