The Institute for Labor Studies' Gender and Development (GAD) Committee organized the seminar-workshop "Beyond 5%: Seminar-Workshop on Mobilizing Resources for Gender and Development Initiatives" on 13 December 2018 at the ILearn Conference Room, ILS, 5/F DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.

The event is in line with the Institute's commitment toward gender mainstreaming and strengthening linkages and partnerships among various partners for a more responsive and evidence-based labor and employment policy decision-making. Resource Speaker: Mr. Yang Villa of Metro Pacific Water discussed how institutions such as ILS can further look for other resources outside the allotted 5% budget by tapping funding partners and aligning their GAD initiative outcomes with the goals of the said partner .

The said capacity-building activity on resource mobilization for GAD initiatives aimed to enable participants to learn the principles and concepts for innovative resource mobilization, and explore applicable strategies and techniques for network building and proposal writing towards mobilizing resources for GAD initiatives within and beyond the government.

The attendees included other technical and administrative staff of the Department of Labor and Employment.
