The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), the policy research and advocacy arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), participated in “Basic Course on Internal Auditing of a QMS (ISO 9001:2008) Using 19011:2011” held at the Miramar Hotel in Manila on 21-22 November 2014.
“We saw the Quality Management System (QMS) as a very important undertaking because we want to establish standards of quality for current and future ILS officers and staff and the users of our products and services,” said Deputy Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer.
Deputy Riguer also explained that the two-day workshop was the last of the series of workshops prior to the implementation of the QMS processes and procedures.
The workshop covered discussions on the auditing process and the QMS audit criteria. It also used different methodologies such as lectures, individual and group exercises, and role plays.
The workshop was facilitated by Engr. James E. Empeno of Rosehall Management Consultants, Inc. Representatives of ILS’ core research teams and support units participated during the workshop.
