Manila, Philippines – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) led the observation of the National Bible Day as it hosted the Department of Labor and Employment’s flag raising ceremony last January 27, 2020 at the Local Governance Learning Center (LGLC), Blas Ople Hall in Intramuros, Manila.

The observance is in line with the government’s policy to aid and encourage the development of the moral character and spiritual foundation of the Filipino people.

The event was attended by DOLE officials headed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III.

The Institute presented its 2019 Accomplishments through a video presentation highlighting its initiatives on the Future of Work (FoW): a roundtable discussion titled, “FIRe Up Agriculture: Harnessing Opportunities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution for the Benefit of Farmers;” a policy forum co-organized with the DOLE International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB) titled “Think Global, Act Local: Gearing Up for the Future of Work;” a forum on “Stepping into the Platform: How the Gig Economy Changes the Way We Work;” and #TrabahongTrending.
