The Institute for Labor Studies, along with the Department of Labor and Employment bureaus and attached agencies, joined the first session of training of trainers for Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) implementers held on September 10, 2024, via Zoom online platform.
ILS Senior Labor and Employment Officer Atty. Joanne Camille P. Bejarin served as a resource speaker for the first chapter on basic law covering an introduction to Philippine labor laws, their significance and evolution, sources, and key labor legislations.
The first part of the eight sessions discussed the overview of Philippine labor laws, specific topics on employment, recruitment, placement, workplace productivity, tripartism, and social dialogue; labor standards; labor relations; and workers with special concerns while the four-day in-person training will be held in collaboration with the Civil Service Institute and will cover modules on program course design and learning facilitation.
The said training is a two-part program to capacitate regional labor education implementers with soft skills in the delivery of the LEES Program’s Basic Labor Law Module. The program consists of two parts: synchronous and asynchronous learning starting the second week of September on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a four-day training event in Metro Manila during the first week of October 2024.
