The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) Acting Deputy Executive Director Patrick Patriwirawan, Jr. presented an overview of the Green Jobs Act (RA 10771) during the Luzon symposium on the theme “Corporate Social Responsibility as a Response to the Future of Work and the Challenges of New Globalization, Climate Change and the Fourth Industrial Revolution" held at the Bayview Park Hotel last February 7.

Organized by the Federation of Free Workers and Employers Confederation of the Philippines, with technical assistance from the Danish Trade Union Development Agency, the event gathered Human Resources Managers and trade union officers from Luzon.

The Symposium sought to provide Principles-based, Inclusive and Business Sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility Project (PBIBS-CSR) as a response to the Future of Work and the Challenges of New Globalization, Climate Change and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It also sought to demonstrate social dialogue, tripartism and bipartism, as mechanisms for shaping the response to the dialogue at enterprise, industry, sectoral, and national levels; and aimed to arrive at or agree on a statement among participants on recommendations on how to commonly address the economic, social and labor market challenges brought about by the new globalization, climate change and Industry 4.0.
