Antipolo City, Rizal – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in the Capacity-Building Seminar: Embracing the Policy Reform Challenges in the 19th Congress,” örganized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in cooperation with the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) on July 13 to 14, at the First Pacific Leadership Academy, Antipolo City, Rizal.
The Institute was represented by Labor and Employment Officers Ms. Mary Rosarie B. Sto. Tomas, Mr. Diether B. Navarosa, and Ms. Lara P. Fameronag during the conduct of the two-day seminar. The sessions focused on legislative advocacy in the Philippine context, the legislative process, a guide to drafting sensible position papers, and institutional linkages for better coordination. The purpose of the program was to build capacity among DOLE employees and sharpen their skills in legislative work and processes.
Apart from DOLE and PLLO, the event was well attended by representatives of offices and senior officials from the Senate of the Philippines, the House of Representatives, and the National Economic and Development Authority.
