The Institute for Labor Studies attended the 5th SERP-P Network Biennial Meeting themed “Gearing Up for SRP_P 4.0,” organized by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) at the PIDS Office in Centris Cyberpod, Quezon City last December 10.
SERP-P or Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines is an online knowledge resource of socioeconomic materials related to development and policymaking in the Philippines. The meeting gathered its 53 member institutions for updates and for workshop inputs on improving the portal. Member institutions of the SERP-P can directly upload their studies into the database, provide keywords, abstract, and even the full text of the papers.
ILS Chief Reinerio Alba helped facilitate a group workshop discussion that surfaced suggestions, which included making the meeting an annual event, including the need for clustering the members for more regular interactions.
The Institute for Labor Studies is the policy and research arm of the Department of Labor and Employment. For more information about ILS products and services, please visit: http//ils.dole.gov.ph or call Advocacy and Publication Division at Tel. No. 527-3590
