Manila, Philippines - The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) hosted the Department of Labor and Employment’s flag raising ceremony last July 1, 2019 at the Local Governance Learning Center (LGLC) at the Blas Ople Hall in Intramuros, Manila.

The event was attended by DOLE officials headed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, Undersecretary for Workers Protection, Policy Support, Human Resource and Internal Auditing Services Cluster Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, Undersecretary for Human Capital Development, Overseas Employment Administration and Policy Support ClusterJacinto V. Paras, Assistant Secretary Labor Relations, Special Concerns, and Regional Operations Atty. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, Assistant Secretary for Human Capital Development, Overseas Employment Administration and Policy Support Cluster Federico V. Abuan, Jr., Assistant Secretary Workers Protection, Human Resource and Internal Auditing Services Cluster Alex V. Avila, Bureau of Labor and Employment Director Dominique Rubia-Tutay, Planning Service Director Adeline T. De Castro, and ILS Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba.

During the “Secretary’s Time,” Secretary Bello mentioned that the flag raising ceremony hosted by the Institute also marked the third-year anniversary of his assumption of office as the head of the Labor and Employment Department. He thanked everyone for their contributions to the Department and he asked for everyone’s continued support to fulfill the DOLE’s mandate of providing decent jobs and protection for the Filipino workers.
