Manila – Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) employees Soledad R. de Luna and Arianne Ishreen C. Bucar were recently promoted to Labor and Employment Officers (LEO) III, and took their oath of office before ILS Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba via Zoom last September 3.
Their oath-taking was the third one conducted online by the Institute transpiring after the ILS has been conferred the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME HRM) Level II / Bronze Award by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
Ms. de Luna joined the Institute in 1986 as an Administrative Aide I and had spent a fruitful career as a member of the Institute’s Finance and Administrative Division until she transitioned into a researcher under the following technical divisions: Labor Standards and Social Relations Research Division (LSRRD), Employment Research Division (ERD), and the Workers Welfare Research Division (WWRD). As LEO II, she co-authored the research “A Study on Employment Profile of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Selected Regions in the Philippines,” with Ms. Miraluna S. Tacadao, Acting Chief LEO of the LSRRD. Recently, she crafted the project proposal “"Zoomba at Iba Pa for Senior Citizens: Making the Digital World Age-Inclusive,” which became the Institute’s third installment for its “Revive and Thrive” webinar series for 2020.
Formerly working for the Bureau of Workers with Special Conditions (BWSC), Ms. Bucar joined the Institute in January 2019 as Labor and Employment Officer II under its Advocacy and Publications Division (APD). She was also part of the research team for the 2019 study “Managing Disruptions in the Age of Automation, Integration, and Reforms: A Situational Analysis of the IT-BPM Sector in the Philippines.”
