On June 28, employees of the Institute for Labor Studies, led by its Gender and Development Committee, visited the offices within the Department of Labor and Employment building in Intramuros, Manila, handing out rainbow ballpens and stickers to celebrate Pride Month.

June is officially celebrated by the LGBT community worldwide as Pride Month and is an annual celebration of the LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer) community worldwide as a way of protesting against discrimination and violence. It also promotes their dignity, equal rights, self-affirmation and is a way of increasing society’s awareness on the issues they face. This year, the 2018 Pride March celebration will be held on June 30, 2018 at the Marikina Sports Center in Marikina City.
