“Overworked is no longer a fad.”

OIC-Executive Director Mary Grace L. Riguer underlined this message during the Corporate Planning Exercise of the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) held last February 2-3, 2017 at the Blue Coral Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas.

As the ILS finalized its research commitments and internal activities for 2017, ED Riguer reminded the staff to plan its events without sacrificing their health and other important concerns of outside work. She congratulated the group for the 2016 accomplishments, notably the finished research papers, inputs to the labor policy of the past and present administration, newly hired personnel, renovation of the iLearn Conference Room, its second consecutive year as Best Accounting Office, and its earning an unqualified opinion by the Commission on Audit.

ED Riguer also highlighted that, for 2017, ILS will celebrate its 30th year founding anniversary.

“Be proud of yourselves, and I want you all to be happy because this year is a milestone for all of us in ILS. We are looking forward to other surprises this year.” ED Riguer said.

One of this year’s target activities includes the Luna Lecture Series, a research forum to be conducted in partnership with various higher educational institutions. The regular activities for Gender and Development, Green Our DOLE Program, INTERNi, and the new Wellness Program Committee were also discussed and scheduled.
