Manila - The Institute conducted a two-day learning session and workshop involving the management and the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) on the development of a six-year gender and development (GAD) agenda as required in the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) Memorandum Circular No. 2018-04.

The two-day learning session focused on legal basis and guiding policies, GAD Framework and GAD Strategic Plan. Writing workshops were also facilitated, where the participants formulated the draft framework and plan as components of the GAD agenda, which the Institute is set to finalize and submit to PCW by yearend.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Executive Director Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer-Teodosio highlighted the importance of the activity following the newly adopted GAD Agenda by the Department of Labor and Employment that was launched during the Women’s Month Celebration in March 2024. Chief Administrative Officer Camilo Franco Cabusas concluded the training with a summary of the discussions covered during the two-day learning session.

Atty. Juddie Rose Tugado-Dimayuga, an accredited GAD trainer under the supervision of the PCW Resource Pool, served as the resource person for the two-day training.

PCW Memorandum Circular No. 2018-04 or the Revised Guidelines for the Preparation of the Gender and Development (GAD) Agenda provides the guidelines and procedures for the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of GAD Agenda as the basis for the annual GAD Plan and Budgets of government agencies.
