Representing the Philippines, Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba sat as a key member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Tripartite Working Group on Options to Ensure Decent Work in Supply Chains held in Geneva, Switzerland from 27 June to 1 July 2022.

The working group reaffirmed the ILO mandate as it relates to decent work in supply chains and the necessity of equipping the ILO to take a leading role in providing guidance and support to Member States and tripartite constituents.

The 5-day meeting resulted to an outcome document or “building blocks of a strategy,” covering all available ILO measures --national, international, mandatory and voluntary – to ensure decent work and improve working conditions in supply chains or those involving investment, production and trade in today’s global economy, which experienced significant challenges during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exec. Dir. Lobrin-Satumba was joined by Permanent Mission of Philippines in Geneva Labor Attache Cheryl Chyt Daytec.
