The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) started its involvement in the project titled, “Public Campaign for Safe and Fair Migration in the ASEAN Region” as part of the implementation of Agreement No. 40281447 between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Through Administrative Order No. 07-A, s. 2020, the Institute has taken the lead in the overall coordination, provision of technical assistance, and representation of the Institute, together with Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, in regular meetings organized by the DOLE Technical Working Group (TWG) on Public Campaign on Safe Migration.

This year’s activities include the conduct of preparatory meetings and workshops that will lead to the conceptualization of the storyboard and script prior to the actual video production and its finalization under the guidance of the Regional Consultant and the hired local media outfit.

Some of these migration experiences by Filipinos were captured in the ILS research by Ronell J. Delerio titled: “Vulnerable but unfazed? Analyzing OFW Experiences, Coping Strategies and Migration Prospects Amid Economic Crisis.” To download a copy, please go to this link: https://ils.dole.gov.ph/vulnerable-but-unfazed-analyzing-ofw-experiences-coping-strategies-and-migration-prospects-amid-economic-crisis/
