Institute for Labor Studies Labor and Employment Officer III Marc Raphael A. Penaredondo won the top prize in the photography contest held on the occasion of the 85th foundation anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and was awarded the cash prize of P10,000 at the DOLE Labor Governance Learning Center in Intramuros, Manila last December 05
The theme of the photo contest for its employees is “Paggunita sa Nakaraan; Pagpupugay sa Kasalukuyan.” Penaredondo’s photo won under the category “Best Photo Documenting a DOLE Program” and was titled “Passing Through Barriers for Policy.” The photo showed three researchers from the Institute and Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (BWSC) crossing the Aklan river in Bgy. Alas-as in Madalag, Aklan for the research “Analysis of Practices and Policies in the Employment of Migratory Sugarcane Workers.”
The other category was "Most Vintage DOLE Event/Activity Photo." The competition aimed to provide a glimpse of the past and attempt to chronicle DOLE’s events, activities, and program implementation from 1933 to 2018.
