Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Paulina Kim C. Pacete, assumed Acting Chief post of the Employment Research Division (ERD) following the completion of her foreign scholarship study in Australia last July 2019.
Ms. Pacete was the recipient of the Australia Awards scholarship and completed her Master’s in International and Development Economics at the Australia National University. She takes over the ERD reins from Senior Labor and Employment Officer Bernard Paul M. Mangulabnan, who served as the Acting Chief during her leave. Mr. Mangulabnan is currently the Acting Supervising LEO of the Institute’s Advocacy and Publications Division.
Ms. Pacete will now be spearheading the following ERD researches for 2019: “Skills Needs Anticipation: Workplace Skills and Satisfaction Baseline Survey of Select Employers in the Construction Industry;” “Differentiation of Pay Scales Across Levels of TVET Qualifications in the Construction Industry; Labor and Employment in the Philippines’ International Trade Agenda: Institutional Mapping and Gap Analysis;” and “Leaving No Worker Behind: Evidence from a Participatory Assessment of DOLE Interventions for Displaced Workers.”
Prior to completing her Master’s, Ms. Pacete has authored the following researches for the Institute: "Philippine Labor Market Migration Factbook 2016;” “Process Evaluation of the Social Amelioration Program-Socioeconomic Projects (SAP-SEP) and Tracer Study of the Educational Assistance Program (EDAP);” and “Macroeconomics and Modelling for Labor Market Analysis: Philippines Employment Projection Model and Key Indicators of the Labor Market,” which she co-authored with Carl Rookie Daquio and Ivan Cassidy Villena.
