Manila – Newly-promoted Institute for Labor Studies’ Supervising Labor and Employment Officer John Emmanuel B. Villanueva took his Oath of Office via Zoom before ILS Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba last September 20.
Mr. Villanueva, who has since assumed the Acting Division Chief post of the Employment Research Division (ERD), started work at ILS in 2017 as a Senior Labor and Employment Officer of the ERD. He authored the following researches: “Final Report of the Regional Study on Green Jobs Policy Readiness in ASEAN;” "Public Employment Services and labor market outcomes: Evidence of linkage from the Philippines;” “Addressing Youth Unemployment in the Philippines: A Policy Analysis of JobStart and Enterprise-led Learning Networks (ELLN);” “Labor and Employment Governance in a Federal Philippines: A Policy Delphi-Survey Study;” “Labor and Employment Policies in the Context of Federalism: Learnings for the Philippines;” “Enhancing Skills Demand-supply Nexus: A Gap Analysis of the Bureau of Local Employment’s Programs in line with the Philippine Qualifications Framework Implementation.”
This year, Mr. Villanueva also won the second prize in the Regional Science Association International (RSAI) Young Researchers Competition for his paper titled, “Political Dynasties and Human Development Investments: Evidence of Linkage from Rizal Province, Philippines.”
