MANILA – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted fieldwork activities at the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) Manila Field Office (MFO) as part of its ongoing research on gender and development (GAD) in labor organizations.
The ILS research team, led by ILS Senior Labor and Employment Officer Joan N. Comillo, paid a courtesy visit to DOLE-NCR Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol and Ms. Nelia M. Mungcal, Chief of the Technical Support and Services Division – Labor Relations/Labor Standards. The research team presented the study’s objectives, relevance, and expected outcomes, highlighting the strategic importance of NCR’s diverse labor landscape in enriching the research findings.
The data gathering activities were conducted at the DOLE-NCR Regional Office with the participation of workers’ representatives, unionized employees, and other key labor stakeholders.
The GAD in Labor Organizations is among the Institute’s eight (8) ongoing research initiatives, which is scheduled to be presented at the annual DOLE Research Conference in October 2025, with full completion targeted by end of December 2025.
