In connection with the 2015 National Disaster Consciousness Month, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted an emergency awareness video presentation last June 29, 2015 at the ILS Conference Room.
In accordance with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s theme “Pamilya at Pamayanang Handa, Katuwang sa Pag-Unlad ng Bansa,” ILS kicks off the coming month of July by screening informative videos highlighting the importance of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management as provided by Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Reduction and Management Act of 2010.
The videos are part of the Disaster Information for Nationwide Awareness Project (Project DINA). The project showcases a number of audio–visual presentations (AVPs) which discuss DRRM topics on disaster preparedness, particularly on what to do before, during and after hazardous events such as earthquakes, tsunami, typhoons, landslides, floods, and volcanic eruptions.
“We ourselves experienced a few of these natural calamities in the past, so we already know their effects, but aside from experience, we must also obtain information from concerned government agencies to be more prepared when disaster strikes,” said Deputy Executive Director Stephanie B. Tabladillo.
