MANILA – The Institute for Labor Studies, led by its Planning Team, headed into the new Fiscal Year by successfully conducting the first phase of its 2023 Corporate Planning series on 5-6 January 2023 at the ILS Conference Room, 6th floor, BF Condominium Building, Intramuros, Manila.
“It is necessary that the Institute partakes in the future DOLE Planning Activities to re-align research outputs with the Department of Labor and Employment’s agenda and mandate,” said OIC-Executive Director Jeanette T. Damo in her Opening Remarks.
Deputy Executive Director III Mary Grace L. Riguer-Teodosio then followed by reiterating salient points from the Strategic Sessions of Senior Officials (SSoSO) last December 2022.
In attendance were all the ILS Division Chiefs: Acting Chief Labor and Employment Officer (LEO) Bernard Paul M. Mangulabnan of the Employment Research Division (ERD), Acting Chief LEO Ivan Cassidy F. Villena of Labor and Social Relations Research Division (LSRRD), Chief LEO Miraluna S. Tacadao of the Workers Welfare Research Division (WWRD), Chief LEO Reinerio A. Alba of the Advocacy and Publications Division (APD), and Chief Administrative Officer Camilo Franco S. Cabusas of the Finance and Administrative Division. They took stock of the FY 2022 accomplishments vis-à-vis targets and operational gaps, issues, challenges, and concerns of their respective divisions during their presentation.
The chiefs also detailed and highlighted the 2023 policy research areas while notably considering socio-economic and labor market indicators and strategic issues and directions presented during the SSoSO.
Day 2 of the activity concluded with a discussion of the pressing issues relevant to the concerns of the Labor Relations, Policy and International Affairs Cluster of DOLE, to which ILS belongs.
