Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) received a general positive review during the 2020 Annual Audit Report Exit Conference, which was held last April 23, 2021 via Zoom.
In full attendance were the ILS employees led by its Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba and Acting Deputy Executive Director Patrick P. Patriwirawan, Jr. The Commission on Audit (COA) team was led by State Auditor V Ms. Ofelia A. Monico and joined by Audit Team Leader Mr. Jan Florenz M. Quimson, State Auditor II, Mr. Al-Helmey F. Aldulrashid, State Auditing Examiner II, and Ms. Dhayana Marie M. Bustillo, State Auditing Examiner II.
The COA Team reported that the Institute accomplished its Organizational Outcome by completing 10 research papers, which exceeded its target of 8 research papers for 2020 with an accomplishment rate or 125%. ILS also produced 222 technical reports and papers before its deadline at a rate of 96.10%, exceeding its 80% target. This figure is based on a total of 230 requests received for 2020. ILS Executive Director Satumba was also able to substantiate the Institute’s budget utilization rate of 93.81% despite the restrictions caused by the on-going pandemic.
The COA team also reported that the ILS has consistently complied with the applicable BIR, GSIS, PhilHealth, and PAG-IBIG rules, and regulations for all its employees, suppliers, contractors, where all shares were remitted to the concerned agencies within the periods specified by each regulation.
In addition, the COA reported the Institute has fully implemented all its recommendations from last year and lauded ILS for continuing to fully implement its operations despite the current restrictions.
