From being ranked 41st in 2017, the Philippines slid by nine notches to 50th out of 63 countries in the 2018 version of the World Competitiveness Yearbook (WCY). Now on its 30th edition, the WCY is a publication of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) which has 55 partner organizations in 63 countries.
