The results of the April 2016 LFS round reported a labor force participation rate of 63.63% out of the 66.805 million population of 15 years old and over. This is equivalent to about 42.510 million economically active population comprising either the employed or unemployed persons. More so, the employment rate was reported at 93.9% and the unemployment rate, 6.1%. The underemployment rate was estimated at 18.4%. This round is the start of a break in the data series following the adoption of the 2013 Master Sample for household-based surveys and hence results are not comparable to the previous year.
