Overall employment situation: The Philippine employment situation continues to improve as indicated in the results of the April 2015 LFS1 round. Employment grew by 1.3%, year-on-year. Unemployment rate decreased to 6.4% from 7.0%. Employment expansion was also accompanied by a decline in underemployment rate (17.8% from 18.2%). Further, vulnerable employment, as measured by the proportion of self-employed and unpaid family workers in total employment, slightly eased to 39.2% from 39.4%.
