In line with the efforts of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to mainstream decent and productive work in order to achieve equitable, inclusive and sustainable growth, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted a Working World Trialogue (WWT) entitled “Understanding New Forms of Work Arrangements: A Policy Discussion on Outsourcing, Offshoring and Remote Work” on 10 May 2013 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) in Quezon City.
The WWT brought together representatives from organizations in the IT-BPO sector, labor organizations and decent work focal agencies of DOLE. It served as a venue of the stakeholders to discuss decent work challenges and opportunities in the industry, for both formal and informal sectors alike, and explore ways to forge partnerships and agreements.
This paper presents the proceedings of the Working World Trialogue, which include the highlights of the input presentations, as well as the documentation of the discussions during the open forum.
