IT’S ABOUT LOVE.

In time for the spirit of the Christmas season, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), the policy research arm of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), undertook an outreach activity in Hospicio de San Jose last November 28, 2013.

“The outreach we did was part of our moral renewal program. But the outreach was not just simply for compliance’s sake. It was all about love and self-giving to others, even for just one brief moment in time. It was an avenue for ILS staff to also share their blessings with others,” ILS Executive Director Cruz said.

Director Cruz also said that the outreach gave an opportunity for the ILS staff and personnel to renew their mission and purpose in government service.

“The ILS’ mercy mission gave the employees and staff a chance to rediscover their purpose in life and the reason for being in public service. And more than that, it also offered them an opportunity to renew their love for country and neighbor,” Director Cruz explained.

The mission of mercy conducted by the ILS served the children with learning disabilities, who have been adopted by the Hospicio de San Jose.
