Mr. Bernard Paul M. Mangulabnan, Acting Chief LEO of the Institute’s Employment Research Division was one of the three delegates who were chosen to represent the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)  in the “Second Workshop of the Development of Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism for the ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Work Programme 2016-2020,” from February 26-27 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

The ASEAN meet, which is hosted by the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia, is divided into three workshop categories namely: Senior Labour Officials Meeting’s Working Group on Progressive Labour Practices to Enhance the Competitiveness of ASEAN (SLOM-WG); ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW); and ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network (ASEAN-OSHNET).

Mr. Mangulabnan participated in the “Working Group on Progressive Labour Practices to Enhance the Competitiveness of ASEAN,” which aims to craft and develop a monitoring and evaluation mechanism, review proposed key performance indicators (KPIs), which were established during the previous meeting and identify baseline data relative to labor practices in the ASEAN region.
