Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is among the awardees recognized during the 90th Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Anniversary celebration held on December 8 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

DOLE recognized the Institute’s efforts and invaluable contributions as a participant in the 58th Session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Subsidiary Bodies in Bonn, Germany, held from June 5 to 15, 2023. The Institute was among the Philippine delegation to the climate negotiations spearheaded by the Climate Change Commission (CCC).

Earlier this year, the Institute also received a plaque of recognition from CCC. This was also to acknowledge the support extended by ILS through the provision of inputs and recommendations in advancing decent work in climate action for a just transition to a green economy.

DOLE also recognized the successful bar takers for the year 2023 from its attached agencies, bureaus, services, and regional offices. Among the awardees was Joanne Camille P. Bejarin, J.D., a senior labor and employment officer of the Workers Welfare and Research Division of ILS. Ms. Bejarin was among the 3,812 applicants who passed the 2023 bar examinations, as announced by the Supreme Court earlier this December.
