The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in the 2014 Walk to End Violence Against Women (EndVAW) on November 25, at Quezon City (QC) Memorial Circle. The walk marks the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children.

Bringing together about 5,000 individuals from different national government agencies, local government units and civil society groups, the 2014 EndVAW Walk jumpstarted an 18-day campaign, which will conclude on December 12.

The participants walked around the Quezon City Circle wearing orange shirts to signify their unified support in the campaign. This year’s VAW observance reinforces calls to put an end to violence against women and children and to achieve gender equality in the country.

The Philippine Commission on Women organized the 2014 Walk to End VAW, in partnership with the local government of Quezon City.
