Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in the 4-day skills enhancement training for DOLE Call Center’s Action Officers, titled “Training-Workshop for DOLE Hotline Action Officers”, from August 23-26 at the Main Function Room, Labor Governance Learning Center (LGLC), Blas F. Ople Hall, Intramuros Manila. The setting up of the 24/7 DOLE Hotline Call Services is in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte to ensure timely delivery of government services.

Representing the ILS are Ivan Cassidy Villanueva of the Labor and Social Relations Research Division (LSRRD), Manuel RJ Mondano of the Finance and Administration Division (FAD) and Reinerio A. Alba, Chief of the Advocacy and Publications Division (APD).

The participants were trained on telephone etiquettes, addressing inquiries properly and promptly, including familiarization on key programs of the DOLE’s attached agencies, bureaus and services. They were also instructed on the PLDT system that will be used for the Call Center.

The four day skills enhancement workshop is conducted by the Human Resource Development Service (HRDS), in coordination with the Labor Communications Office (LCO), in preparation for the launch of the DOLE Hotline which will be available 24 hours starting September 5, 2016.
