ILS participates in DOLE-NTIPC meeting on LEP 2023-2028 regional outputs

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) OIC-Executive Director Jeanette T. Damo joined the directors of the bureaus and attached agencies of the Department of Labor and Employment  during the National Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (NTIPC) meeting at Luxent Hotel, Timog Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City on 19 May 2023.

The meeting, under the guidance of DOLE Undersecretary Carmela I. Torres of Employment and Human Resource Development Cluster, was organized by the DOLE Planning Service in preparation for the finalization of the Labor and Employment Plan (LEP) 2023-2028. The Plan highlights the key priorities in promoting full, decent, and productive employment, achieving an improved labor market governance, and institutionalizing an equitable social protection system.

The output presented to the NTIPC was a product of the series of consultations held throughout the country to gather inputs and recommendations from various regional stakeholders to ensure that the upcoming LEP will address the specific needs and challenges of the local labor market.

NTIPC serves as the main consultative and advisory mechanism lodged with the Department’s Bureau of Labor Relations. It functions primarily as a forum for tripartite advisement and consultation among organized labor, employer and government in the formulation and implementation of labor and employment policies.
